About
Most AI safety research asks how to control and align advanced systems. Some researchers ask whether that is possible at all and are working to prove it formally.
This index collects the strongest work toward those formal results, organized so that researchers, policymakers, and funders can each find what matters most to their domain. It is curated and growing, not comprehensive. If you know of work that belongs here, reach out.
Beyond the index, the project works to build the field: organizing collaborations and workshops, connecting researchers with funding, developing a lecture series and educational materials that make the formal foundations accessible to new audiences, and translating results into concrete policy recommendations for the people positioned to act on them.
Donate
This index and project are supported by a grant from the Survival and Flourishing Fund. That funding covers early-stage work, but sustaining and growing the project, maintaining the database, curating and grading new entries, coordinating workshops, building educational materials, and connecting researchers across fields requires broader support. If this work is useful to you or your organization, donations help it continue.
The Uncontainability Project is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
